The teachers' inset is a full-day workshop covering all key aspects of teaching film-making. The workshop includes:

1. Filming for the Creative Arts and Media Diploma (Edexcel / AQA)

2. Your shooting kit
Options to get your school ready to start filming

3. Before shooting (pre-production)
Your script, shot list, shot sizes, storyboarding

4. Shooting
On-set etiquette, master shot, coverage, the visual vocabulary, lighting the scene, recording sound

5. After shooting (post-production)
Editing, special effects, grading, sound mix

6. Further Diploma support
What Screen Direct can do, start projects, one-day workshops

7. Plenary discussion

Our goal is to create a uniquely interactive, innovative practical workshop offering easy to use transferable skills & strategies and invaluable industry insight into Film-making for teachers of 14-19 Creative Arts & Media Diploma Levels 1, 2 & 3. The aim is to enable teachers and consortia to fulfil the QCA Creative Arts & Media Applied Learning Criteria by creating projects and experiences that reflect real work in the sector.

All teachers of 14-19 Creative Arts & Media and Performing Arts courses.

  • Delegates will be provided with a personal hard copy of the course script on the day and/or DVD.
  • Course subject to minimum numbers.
  • Screen Direct reserves the right to cancel within 7 days of course date. In event of cancellation, all fees will be repaid in full by Screen Direct.
  • Delegate cancellations must be made in writing. If a delegate cancels less than three days before a course is due to be presented, there will be a 50% cancellation charge. Substitutions can be made at any time.
